Boston: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, raised serious concerns over the integrity of India’s electoral process while addressing members of the Indian diaspora in Boston. He alleged that the Election Commission of India is “compromised”, citing what he called “statistical impossibilities” during recent elections.
Gandhi pointed to the Maharashtra Assembly elections, alleging an improbable spike of 65 lakh votes within two hours. “More people voted in Maharashtra than the actual population of the state,” he claimed, calling the surge “physically impossible.”
