NIA takes over Pahalgam terror attack case on MHA’s orders

Srinagar: Acting on directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has formally initiated the takeover of the probe into the recent Pahalgam terror attack, one of the deadliest strikes in Kashmir in recent times.

NIA teams, stationed at the attack site in Baisaran Valley since Wednesday, have stepped up their investigation, intensifying the search for crucial evidence. Senior NIA officials, including an Inspector General (IG), a Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and a Superintendent of Police (SP), are directly supervising the operation.

In an official statement, the agency confirmed that investigators are meticulously questioning eyewitnesses to reconstruct the chain of events surrounding the attack. Special focus is being given to the entry and exit points, as teams work to decode the terrorists’ modus operandi.

Forensic experts and technical teams have been deployed to comb through the area, aiming to uncover key evidence that could unravel the conspiracy behind the attack. Officials described the ongoing investigation as “critical” to not only identify those responsible but also to dismantle the network behind the act that has rattled the nation.
