Bokaro: In a remarkable achievement, Varsha Chandrika, a Class XII student of Delhi Public School, Bokaro, has become the only student from Jharkhand selected for PROMYS India 2025 — a prestigious mathematics research programme hosted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.

PROMYS (Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists), originally launched at Boston University in 1989, is renowned for nurturing exceptional young mathematicians. The Indian edition offers a rigorous six-week program focused on building research skills and deep mathematical understanding. Varsha’s selection, among only 30 students nationwide, highlights her outstanding analytical talent and dedication.

Passionate about research and aspiring to become a quantum physicist, Varsha credited her school and teachers for their support. Her participation may lead to research publication and opportunities for lectureships.

Congratulating, Dr. A. S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro, said, “Her success reflects the power of dedication and perseverance and is a moment of pride for the school and the state of Jharkhand.”

PROMYS India 2025 will run from May 11 to June 21 at IISc Bengaluru.
