Bokaro: Nine students of Pitts Modern School, Gomia, were felicitated for their outstanding performance at the Bokaro District Athletic Championship 2025, held at Kargali Football Ground from April 29 to 30. Organized by the Bokaro District Athletic Association, the event saw the school clinch a total of 13 medals—5 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze.
In the girls’ category, standout performances came from Shubhi (1 gold, 1 silver), Ishika Sahay (1 gold), Shraddha Lakra (1 gold), Shruti Kumari (1 silver, 1 bronze), Dolly Kumari (2 bronze), Kumari Gunjan (1 bronze), and Pinky Kumari (1 bronze). In the boys’ category, Ashish Nayak and Ashish Yadav bagged a gold each, with Yadav also securing a silver.
The students trained under the guidance of coaches Gangadhar Yadav and Varsha Dwivedi. Some athletes are expected to qualify for the upcoming National Inter District Junior Athletic Meet (NIDJAM) in Tirupati and the state-level competition in Jamtara.
Principal Brijmohan Lal Das congratulated the medalists and reaffirmed the school’s dedication to holistic development. Abhishek Biswas, General Manager of IEPL Orica, Gomia, and Arindam Dasgupta, Vice President of the Vidyalaya Management Committee, also lauded the students and faculty for their achievements.
