India Blocks Inbound Mail from Pakistan, X Account of Pakistani I&B Minister Ataullah

New Delhi: In a strong diplomatic response following the recent Pahalgam terror attack, India has suspended all categories of inbound mail and parcels from Pakistan, citing national security concerns. The Ministry of Communications announced the suspension on Friday, stating that the measure applies to both air and surface routes.

The move comes amid escalating tensions between the two nations after a brutal terrorist assault in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baisaran meadows on April 22, where 26 tourists were killed after being singled out based on their religion.

In a related development, India has also blocked the X (formerly Twitter) account of Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ataullah Tarar. Attempts to access the minister’s profile now show the message: “Account withheld.”

Earlier in the day, India further tightened its stance by banning all direct and indirect imports from Pakistan. The government described the step as being “in the interest of national security and public policy,” emphasizing that exceptions would require prior approval.

These actions signal a coordinated and assertive diplomatic offensive by New Delhi in response to cross-border terrorism and deteriorating bilateral ties.
