Bokaro: Mithila Academy Public School, Sector 4E, hosted a grand felicitation ceremony on Monday to honour its esteemed Chairman, Hari Mohan Jha at school’s Vidyapati Auditorium, ahead of his transfer to SAIL’s Corporate Office in Delhi.
The event was a heartfelt and memorable tribute to a man whose leadership, warmth, and guidance have left an indelible mark on the school community.
The ceremony commenced with a soulful welcome song by the students, followed by a melodious rendition of “Jai Jai Bhairavi Asur Bhayuni,” a devotional piece penned by the legendary poet Vidyapati. A vibrant cultural programme added colour to the occasion, showcasing the students’ talent and celebrating the spirit of the school.
Principal Ashok Pathak spoke warmly about Jha’s dynamic personality, describing him as a pillar of strength and wisdom. Teachers and staff shared emotional anecdotes, calling him a mentor, guide, and visionary administrator who transformed the school’s growth trajectory.
School Management Committee member Sunil Mohan Thakur praised: “Jha not only as an accomplished officer of Bokaro Steel Plant but also as a compassionate and socially committed individual.” As he prepares to take up his new role in Delhi, the school and Bokaro society bid him farewell with deep gratitude and admiration, he said.
Secretary Pramod Kumar Jha Chandan likened him to a “banyan tree,” offering shade and support to all. The event saw distinguished guests honouring Shri Jha with a bouquet, turban, Mithila painting, and mementoes — symbols of respect and affection. Emotions ran high as the ceremony concluded, with many in the audience moved to tears.
In his farewell address, Hari Mohan Jha expressed heartfelt thanks to the entire school community. He fondly referred to Bokaro as his karmabhoomi (land of duty) and said that the memories of his time here would always remain close to his heart.
The previous evening, a special meeting of the School Management Committee was held, where Shri Jha was officially given a warm farewell. Speakers praised his social contributions and administrative excellence, wishing him success in his new responsibilities.
