Bokaro: A vibrant cultural program, Kaladarshan, was held on Wednesday at the Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA) Chhau Center in Chandankyari, captivating the audience with traditional performances and musical artistry.
The event unfolded in three key segments, in the presence of renowned Dhrupad vocalist and Chairman of the Advisory Committee Umakant Gundecha, SNA Secretary Raju Das, and other distinguished committee members including eminent flautist Pt. Chetan Joshi and Chhau Center Coordinator Dr. Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary.
The first phase featured assessments of 14 performing teams—eight from Odisha, three from Saraikela, two from West Bengal (Purulia), and one local team from Chandankyari—beginning at 9:00 AM.
In the second phase, the Advisory Committee convened to review past initiatives and chart plans for the upcoming year, engaging in detailed deliberations on the institution’s cultural roadmap.
The day culminated in a grand evening event celebrating the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. Artists from West Bengal, led by Sanjeev Majumdar, delivered captivating performances of Rabindra Sangeet, leaving the audience spellbound.
The program was inaugurated by Gundecha and Das, and smoothly coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary. Key contributions to the event’s success came from Praveen Kumar Dureja, Dilip Jena, Vijay Kumar, and Ashutosh Kumar.
