India Neutralises Pakistani Air Defence in Precision Retaliation After Cross-Border Escalation

New Delhi: In a sharp and measured counter-offensive, the Indian Armed Forces launched targeted strikes against multiple Air Defence Radars and systems inside Pakistan early this morning. According to the Ministry of Defence, one of the key Pakistani Air Defence systems located in Lahore has been neutralised.

The action, described by the Defence Ministry as a “same domain, same intensity” response, comes after Pakistan attempted a large-scale drone and missile offensive late last night, targeting several key military installations across northern and western India. These included bases in Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj.

Indian defence systems, including the Integrated Counter-UAS Grid and other air defence mechanisms, successfully neutralised the incoming threats. Debris recovered from various sites has confirmed the scale and origin of the Pakistani attacks.

Meanwhile, the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) has seen a sharp escalation, with Pakistan intensifying its unprovoked firing using mortars and heavy artillery across Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri sectors in Jammu and Kashmir. The Defence Ministry reported the tragic loss of sixteen civilian lives, including three women and five children, due to the shelling.

In retaliation, Indian forces responded with calibrated strikes aimed at silencing the mortar and artillery fire from across the border. Emphasising restraint, the Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to non-escalation — contingent, however, on reciprocal conduct by Pakistan’s military.

Yesterday, during a press briefing on Operation SINDOOR, Indian officials characterised the country’s actions as “focused, measured, and non-escalatory.” It was underlined that no Pakistani military establishments had been targeted in the operation. However, the Ministry reiterated that any further attacks on Indian military assets would draw a “suitable response.”
