New Delhi: India has received robust international support following the launch of Operation Sindoor, a targeted military operation against terror camps in the wake of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Nations across continents, including the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, have endorsed India’s right to self-defence and condemned cross-border terrorism.
The European Union and all 27 of its member states issued a unified statement expressing firm backing for India’s counter-terror efforts. U.S. President Donald Trump conveyed solidarity with New Delhi, affirming India’s sovereign right to defend itself while also advocating for de-escalation and a return to diplomacy.
In the UK, Foreign Secretary David Lammy declared India was justified in its outrage, while former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak emphasized that no nation should tolerate cross-border terrorism. Russia, meanwhile, called for restraint from both India and Pakistan but strongly condemned terrorism in all forms, expressing concern over the military escalation.
Israel offered unequivocal support, with its ambassador stating that “terrorists have no sanctuary” and reaffirming India’s right to protect its citizens. Indian officials have clarified that Operation Sindoor was not a retaliatory strike, but a strategic, precise effort to dismantle terror infrastructure, avoiding Pakistani military targets.
“India did not act out of vengeance,” a senior government source noted. “This was a calibrated action focused solely on national security.”
The international consensus is clear: India has the right to defend itself against terrorism, and Operation Sindoor has been seen as a measured and legitimate response. Global leaders acknowledged that India did not initiate the conflict but responded decisively to protect its citizens and uphold peace.
