Fact-Check with Firepower: PM Modi Visits Adampur, Shares Iconic Visuals with S-400 in the Frame

RNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a high-profile visit to the Adampur Air Force Station on Tuesday, days after the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a precision airstrike campaign launched by the Indian Air Force in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

The visit comes amid Pakistan’s false claims that its JF-17 fighter jets had damaged India’s air defence systems. In a powerful rebuttal to this disinformation, the Prime Minister was seen saluting Indian soldiers with a MiG-29 fighter jet and a fully intact S-400 air defence system prominently visible in the backdrop—a striking image that sends a clear message of strength and operational readiness.

Located near Jalandhar in Punjab, Adampur is India’s second-largest air base and a crucial hub for both fighter operations and pilot training. Historically known for housing MiG-21 squadrons, the base now operates advanced Su-30MKI aircraft and features comprehensive maintenance and repair infrastructure.

Sharing his experience on X, Prime Minister Modi wrote:
“Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation.”

The visit took place just a day after Modi addressed Pakistan in strong terms over its continued support for terrorism, further highlighting the government’s no-tolerance approach.

Operation Sindoor, carried out on May 7, was launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 Indian tourists at Baisaran Valley. The Indian Air Force targeted and dismantled multiple terror launchpads across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), showcasing India’s strategic precision and military resolve.

PM Modi’s visit, visuals, and statements together form a direct counter to hostile propaganda, reinforcing India’s commitment to national security and the unwavering spirit of its armed forces.
