Mumbai: Film and television actor Mukul Dev passed away on Saturday at the age of 54 after a brief illness. According to family sources, the actor had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a city hospital after his condition deteriorated.
Mukul Dev is survived by his brother, actor and former model Rahul Dev. Known for his versatility across film and television, Mukul made his Bollywood debut in 1996 with Dastak opposite Sushmita Sen and went on to act in popular films such as Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardaar, and Jai Ho.
Apart from films, he was also a familiar face on Indian television, remembered for his roles in shows like Gharwali Uparwali and Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat.
A man of many talents, Mukul Dev was also a trained pilot and contributed to the creative world by writing the screenplay for Hansal Mehta’s critically acclaimed film Omerta.
