New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated India’s steadfast commitment to an early and peaceful resolution of the Ukraine–Russia conflict, assuring that New Delhi will extend “every possible contribution” toward ending the war.
In a telephonic conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Modi reaffirmed India’s consistent stance on diplomacy and dialogue as the only way forward. He also conveyed India’s readiness to work closely with Kyiv to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Sharing details of the conversation on social media, the Prime Minister said he had also heard President Zelenskyy’s assessment of recent developments on the ground.
The talks come just days ahead of a high-profile meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska next Friday — a summit expected to focus heavily on the future course of the Ukraine war.
Trump announced the meeting on social media, while the Kremlin later confirmed the venue, calling Alaska a “logical location” given its geographical proximity to Russia.
