Bahrain FM Abdullatif Alzayani in New Delhi for High-Level Talks with Jaishankar

New Delhi: Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif Bin Rashid Alzayani arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and reviewing progress in key areas of cooperation.

During his visit, Alzayani will hold talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to discuss the full spectrum of India–Bahrain relations, including trade, investment, security, education, and cultural exchanges.

The visit follows Jaishankar’s trip to Manama in December last year, where both ministers co-chaired the fourth India–Bahrain High Joint Commission meeting. That dialogue paved the way for deeper collaboration in education, cybersecurity, counterterrorism, and consular cooperation.

Both nations have identified the Bilateral Security Dialogue and Joint Steering Committee on Counterterrorism as crucial platforms for institutionalising cooperation in emerging security areas, particularly cyber defence.

India and Bahrain share longstanding ties, underpinned by robust political trust, economic engagement, and people-to-people connections.

Alzayani is scheduled to depart for Manama on Monday, concluding his brief yet significant diplomatic engagement.
