India Showcases Cybersecurity Ecosystem as CERT-In Engages International Journalists

New Delhi: The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), on Friday hosted a cybersecurity familiarisation and interaction session for visiting journalists from Europe, the Americas and Central Asia.

Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the session offered an inside view of India’s evolving cyber defence architecture and response mechanisms.

Addressing the gathering, CERT-In Director General Dr Sanjay Bahl detailed the agency’s mandate in safeguarding the nation’s digital ecosystem, including cyber crisis management, vulnerability assessment and coordinated response to cyber incidents. He underlined the rapid expansion of India’s cybersecurity landscape, powered by more than 400 startups and a growing pool of skilled professionals.

Dr Bahl also highlighted the increasing deployment of artificial intelligence-driven tools to enable real-time threat detection, faster response and enhanced resilience against emerging cyber threats. The interaction aimed to familiarise international media with India’s preparedness and policy approach in an era of escalating global cyber risks.
