
Bokaro: The Steel Authority of India Limited has announced selection trials for the 2026–27 session of its football academy in Bokaro, offering a platform for budding players to showcase their talent.
The trials will be conducted by the Bokaro Steel Plant at MKM Stadium, Sector-4, on May 2 and 3, with reporting scheduled from 7:00 AM.
Eligibility and Criteria
Candidates born between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2011, are eligible to participate. Minimum height requirements have been set at 5 feet 7 inches for outfield players and 5 feet 10 inches for goalkeepers. Applicants must also meet medical standards, including having at least 28 teeth.
Participants are required to bring their original birth certificate issued in the year of birth and an Aadhaar card for verification.
No Fee, Professional Training on Offer
Officials clarified that no fee will be charged at any stage of the selection process.
The SAIL Football Academy in Bokaro, rated “Star” by the All India Football Federation, is also part of the Asian Football Confederation Grassroots Programme. Selected players will receive structured training, medical support and academic assistance.
The initiative aims to identify and groom promising football talent from the region for higher levels of the sport.
