News Desk: Indian security agencies have arrested a Pakistani national allegedly linked to the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), in a case that has drawn attention due to an unusual turn involving a hair transplant procedure in Srinagar during his alleged terror mission.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Usman Jatt alias “Chinese”, is a resident of Lahore, Pakistan. Officials said he had infiltrated into Jammu and Kashmir with the objective of carrying out terror-related activities and strengthening networks linked to Pakistan-backed militancy in the region.
Entered India Allegedly for Terror Activities
According to investigators, Jatt crossed into Jammu and Kashmir as part of an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba module tasked with executing terror operations and coordinating with local operatives.
Security agencies stated that he was working alongside another operative, identified as Sajad Zargam, while remaining underground in Srinagar for several months.
Officials said the accused was eventually arrested earlier this year by Srinagar Police, following intelligence inputs and surveillance operations linked to suspected terror activities.

Claimed Kashmir Reality Was Different
During interrogation, Jatt reportedly told investigators that the situation in Kashmir was very different from what he had been told during terror training sessions in Pakistan.
According to reports, he allegedly claimed that after witnessing life in the Valley, he gradually distanced himself from the original terror plans.
Investigators are currently verifying the authenticity of these claims while probing his activities and possible links with other operatives active in the region.
Hair Transplant Became Unexpected Focus
In a surprising revelation during questioning, the accused reportedly disclosed that he had long struggled with hair loss and low self-esteem.
Officials said Jatt believed advanced hair restoration treatments were mostly available in Western countries. However, while staying in Srinagar, he reportedly came across a local hair transplant clinic and decided to undergo the procedure there.
Investigators said he remained in Srinagar for an extended period during and after the treatment, delaying his alleged terror mission.
Travelled to Nepal for Fake Documents: Probe
Security agencies further claimed that after the procedure, Jatt travelled with another operative, Abu Huraira, to Jammu and later Nepal.
According to investigators, the purpose of the trip was allegedly to arrange forged identity documents, including a fake passport and PAN card, which could help him escape to a Gulf country.
Officials suspect that the accused was attempting to create a new identity to avoid detection and establish himself outside the region.
NIA Monitoring Wider Terror Links
Authorities said the case has raised serious concerns regarding cross-border infiltration and sleeper networks operating in Jammu and Kashmir.
Investigators are now probing the wider network of Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and facilitators who may have assisted the Pakistani operative during his stay in the Valley.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also reported to be examining possible international links connected to the case, officials said.
