Pakistan’s Nuclear Weapons Are Unsafe, Should Be Taken Over by IAEA

J&K: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today expressed serious concerns over the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons, urging that they be placed under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Speaking during his visit to the Army’s 15 Corps at Badami Bagh Cantonment, Singh emphasized that India’s recent Operation Sindoor stands as a strong and impenetrable response to terrorism emanating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) over several decades.

Commending the Indian armed forces for their bravery, precision, and dedication in executing Operation Sindoor, Singh said the nation takes immense pride in the soldiers’ courage and commitment to protecting the country. “The whole world has witnessed how irresponsibly Pakistan has threatened India,” he remarked, questioning the security of nuclear weapons in Pakistan’s hands and advocating for international oversight.

This visit marks Singh’s first to Jammu and Kashmir since the launch of Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror camps across Pakistan and PoJK following the deadly April 22 attack in Pahalgam. The Defence Minister conveyed the heartfelt appreciation and congratulations of the entire nation to the troops for their successful mission.

Singh reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm stance against terrorism, stating that dialogue and terror cannot coexist. He added that any future talks with Pakistan will be strictly limited to issues concerning Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and terrorism.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, and other senior military officials were present during the Defence Minister’s address.
