Gaya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gaya on Thursday (August 22) and is set to gift two major railway services to the region — the Amrit Bharat Express and a new MEMU passenger train. Both trains will originate from Gaya Junction, bringing huge relief to passengers of Bihar and adjoining states.

According to officials, the Prime Minister will flag off the services from Bodh Gaya Sabhasthal via video conferencing. The Amrit Bharat Express will connect Gaya to Delhi, while the MEMU train will run between Koderma and Vaishali, passing through Gaya Junction.

Train details:

The 22-coach Amrit Bharat Express will have engines on both ends, equipped with 11 general coaches, 8 sleeper coaches, 2 SLR coaches, and a pantry car. It will depart from Gaya at 10:50 am and reach Delhi at 4:30 am, halting at key stations like Anugrah Narayan Road, Dehri-on-Sone, Sasaram, Bhabua, DDU, Subedarganj, Tundla, Govindpuri and Ghaziabad.

The MEMU passenger train will enhance connectivity between Gaya, Nawada, Koderma, and nearby rural areas, offering convenient travel to smaller stations.

Station Manager Vinod Kumar Singh said, “PM Modi’s vision is to ensure common people can travel comfortably to Delhi. The Amrit Bharat Express will provide a modern travel experience, especially useful for Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims visiting Gaya.”

Apart from rail services, Modi will also inaugurate the much-awaited Auntha-Simaria Bridge project over the river Ganga in Begusarai. Built over seven years at a cost of ₹1,871 crore, the bridge is expected to boost regional connectivity.

This will be Modi’s latest in a series of visits to Bihar. The Prime Minister had earlier addressed rallies in Siwan (June 20), Patna (May 29), Bikramganj (May 30), and Madhubani (April). He was last in the state on July 18.
