Ranchi Excise Revenue Boost: 150 Retail Shops Settled, Govt Gets ₹6.18 Cr in Fees

Ranchi: The settlement of 150 retail product shops under the New Product Rules (2025) was successfully completed in Ranchi through an online e-lottery, chaired by Deputy Commissioner-cum-Settlement Officer Manjunath Bhajantri at the Collectorate Auditorium.

A total of 1,752 applicants participated, generating ₹6.18 crore in government revenue through application fees. The shops were divided into 87 groups, with allotments made transparently in the presence of officials and applicants.

Additional Collector Ramnarayan Singh and Assistant Product Commissioner Arun Kumar Mishra supervised the process. First, second and third winners were declared for each shop, ensuring fairness if the primary allottee defaults.

For FY 2025-26, Ranchi has set a Minimum Guarantee Revenue (MGR) target of ₹736 crore from excise. Of this, ₹449 crore is expected between September 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.

Officials emphasized the transparency and fairness of the e-lottery system, which completed the process smoothly in the presence of stakeholders.
