New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another suspect in the 10 November car bombing near Delhi’s Red Fort, taking into custody a Faridabad resident accused of harboring and providing support to the alleged suicide bomber.
The accused, identified as Soyab, hails from Dhauj village—home to the Al Falah School of Medical Sciences, where bomber Dr Umar un Nabi was employed. Investigators say Soyab “provided logistical support” and helped Nabi evade detection during the preparation phase of the attack.

Sources familiar with the probe allege Nabi was sheltered at the home of Soyab’s sister-in-law in Haryana’s Nuh district prior to the explosion. The blast, carried out using ANFO (Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil), killed 15 people and injured 32, making it one of the most destructive terror strikes in the national capital in recent years.
The arrest of Soyab marks the seventh detention in the case. The NIA had earlier arrested two Kashmir residents — Amir Rashid Ali, accused of procuring the i20 vehicle used in the bombing, and Jasir Bilal Wani (alias Danish), who allegedly offered technical assistance, including modifying drones and experimenting with rocket-like devices.
The agency has additionally taken into custody Muzammil Shakil, Shaheen Saeed, and Adeel Rather, all connected with the Al Falah medical institution, alongside Shopian-based preacher Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, who has been brought to Delhi for interrogation.
The NIA says it continues to track remaining suspects and is conducting coordinated searches across states to dismantle the entire network linked to the attack.
