ESL Steel Celebrates Kisan Diwas 2025 with New Agriculture Resource Centre

Bokaro: Reinforcing its focus on farmer empowerment and sustainable rural development, ESL Steel Limited marked Kisan Diwas 2025 with the inauguration of a Common Resource Centre (CRC) at Partand under its flagship Project WADI.

The initiative, aligned with the national theme “Empowering Annadatas for a Prosperous Nation”, reflects ESL Steel’s long-term commitment to strengthening farming communities through scientific agriculture, technology-driven solutions and knowledge-based interventions.

Designed as a one-stop agricultural facilitation hub, the CRC will provide farmer training, demonstrations of modern cultivation techniques, agri-extension services, expert guidance, access to government schemes and Custom Hiring Services for farm machinery—aimed at improving productivity and reducing input costs.

The centre was inaugurated by Anand Dubey, Chief Financial Officer, Vedanta ESL Steel Limited, in the presence of Kunal Daripa, members of the CSR team, Philmoon Bilung of NABARD, and local governance representatives. The programme opened with a traditional tribal welcome, highlighting strong community participation under Project WADI.

As part of the celebrations, farmers toured the Model Farm, where live demonstrations showcased improved farming practices, nursery development, modern agri-technologies and sustainable plantation methods.

During interactions, WADI beneficiary farmers shared success stories of increased yields, adoption of scientific techniques and enhanced incomes, underlining the programme’s visible impact on ground.

The event concluded with a community lunch and vote of thanks, reaffirming a shared commitment to building resilient, self-reliant and prosperous rural ecosystems.

Through Project WADI, ESL Steel Limited continues to play a catalytic role in empowering farmers and strengthening sustainable livelihoods across its operational regions.
