
New Delhi/Buxar: In a serious security-related case, Bihar Police has arrested a 22-year-old man from Bihar’s Buxar district for allegedly writing to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), offering to “eliminate” Prime Minister Narendra Modi within 22 days in exchange for money.
The accused, Aman Tiwari, a resident of Araria village under Simri police station limits, was arrested on April 8 while returning home after accompanying his father to a temple. The arrest followed specific intelligence inputs, after which an FIR was registered and an investigation launched.

Email Sent in 2025, Motive Under Probe
According to police, the email was sent in October 2025. In it, the accused allegedly claimed he could execute the act within 22 days if paid. During interrogation, he gave multiple and inconsistent statements. Investigators suspect the motive was financial, with the email possibly intended to extract money rather than carry out a real threat.

Laptop, Phones and Digital Equipment Seized
Police have seized the accused’s laptop, mobile phones, storage devices and other electronic equipment, which are now being examined by forensic experts. His room has also been sealed to preserve evidence and track digital activity.
Past Record Raises Concern
Officials confirmed that the accused has a prior record. In 2022, he was detained as a juvenile for allegedly sending a hoax email threatening to blow up Kolkata Airport.
Two Others Detained, Probe Expands
Two more individuals have been detained in connection with the case, and their involvement is under investigation. Family members and associates are also being questioned, though no direct link has been established so far.
Authorities have reiterated that any threat—real or fabricated—against the country’s leadership is treated with utmost seriousness and will invite strict legal action.
