
Bokaro: The Education Department of Bokaro Steel Plant has invited applications for the Birsa Munda Scholarship for the academic session 2026-28.
The scheme is meant for the legitimate or stepchildren of families displaced during the construction of Bokaro Steel Plant. Students who passed the Matriculation examination in 2026 and have secured admission in a recognised Intermediate or +2 course for the 2026-28 session are eligible to apply.
Under the scholarship scheme, selected students will receive financial assistance of ₹500 per month in the first year and ₹750 per month in the second year. The benefit will be provided for a maximum period of two years.
A total of 25 students will be selected strictly on the basis of merit, and the scholarship amount will be transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through online mode.
The notification clarified that the scheme is applicable only to children of displaced families, while students admitted to the course before the 2026-28 academic session will not be eligible.
Applicants must submit copies of their Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, self-attested displacement certificate issued by the DPLR, Matriculation mark sheet, and bank passbook or cancelled cheque along with the application form.
Completed applications in the prescribed format must be submitted to the HR (L&D) Department, Room No. 01, Bokaro Steel Plant, by July 20, 2026.
