Bokaro: Celebrating the mentors who shape young minds and inspire future dreams, ESL Steel Limited marked Teachers’ Day with a series of engaging programmes across its CSR project sites in Bokaro, bringing together students, teachers, coaches and mentors in a tribute to the power of education and guidance.
The celebrations were held at 8 Learning Resource Centres (LRCs) and 12 Nandghars under Project Shiksha, involving more than 900 students in quiz competitions, drawing contests and other activities. Gift distribution and interactive programmes gave students an opportunity to express gratitude to their teachers while promoting creativity and learning.
The celebrations also reached the ESL Archery Academy, where young archers paid tribute to their coaches and mentors. Since its inception, the academy has trained 56 archers, providing budding athletes with structured opportunities to develop their skills and pursue sporting excellence.
ESL Steel CEO and Whole-Time Director Ravish Sharma said educators and mentors play a vital role not only in shaping what young people learn but also in determining who they become.
He said the company views investment in education, mentorship and youth development as an investment in the future of local communities. Through Project Shiksha and the ESL Archery Academy, the company aims to create opportunities for children and young people to learn, grow and realise their potential.
More than 930 beneficiaries participated in the Teachers’ Day celebrations across ESL’s CSR project sites. During FY 2025-26, Project Shiksha benefited 1,548 students, while Vedanta AAS Vidyalaya has reached more than 1,700 beneficiaries since its inception, strengthening access to education and digital learning in surrounding communities.
The celebrations underlined ESL Steel’s continued focus on education, youth development and community empowerment, while recognising the contribution of teachers and mentors in building confident and capable communities.
