
Jharkhand Pride: DPS Bokaro Alumnus Dr. Vijay Manohar Secures AIR 1 in INI-SS Exam
Bokaro: Bringing pride to Bokaro and Jharkhand, Dr. Vijay Manohar, a 2014 alumnus of Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the prestigious INI-SS (Institute of National Importance Super-Specialty) Examination, conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
Dr. Vijay topped the national merit list in MCh Renal Transplant Surgery, earning admission to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, where only one seat is available for this highly specialized course. He will now undergo three years of advanced training in renal transplant surgery, one of the most challenging and sought-after fields in modern medicine.
COVID-19 Crisis Became a Turning Point
For Dr. Vijay, this achievement represents much more than academic success. It is the culmination of a journey inspired by the hardships witnessed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recalling that period, he said the medical emergency and human suffering he observed in Bokaro deeply impacted him. The experience strengthened his resolve to enhance his medical expertise and contribute more effectively to patient care and public health.
Motivated by this commitment, he devoted himself to years of rigorous study and clinical training, ultimately achieving the highest rank in the country in his chosen specialty.
Pride for DPS Bokaro
The achievement has been widely celebrated by the DPS Bokaro community. School Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar congratulated Dr. Vijay and described his accomplishment as a matter of immense pride for the institution.

Dr Vijay completed his MBBS from RIMS in 2019 and later earned a DNB in General Surgery from Jaipur Golden Hospital, Delhi, in 2025.
A Family’s Pride, A City’s Inspiration
Dr. Vijay is the son of retired steelworker Srinivas Rao and homemaker Anuradha Rao, residents of Vastu Vihar, Phase-II, Chirachas. His father recalled that Vijay had displayed exceptional academic ability since childhood and was among the country’s top-performing students in Biology during his school years.
With this remarkable accomplishment, Dr. Vijay Manohar has not only brought laurels to DPS Bokaro and Jharkhand but has also emerged as an inspiring example of how dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to serving humanity can transform challenges into extraordinary success.
