Ranchi: A growing interest in natural and lifestyle-based wellness is bringing naturopathy into sharper focus in Ranchi. Dr Urvashi Pandey, a naturopathy and Panchakarma practitioner with around five years of experience, is offering holistic wellness consultations at Vedanjali Wellness in the city.

With professional experience at wellness centres in Gurgaon and Mumbai, where she worked as a naturopathic consultant, Dr Pandey has developed an approach that combines naturopathy, Ayurveda and Panchakarma therapies.

“Nature is the greatest healer,” she says, emphasising the role of healthy food, lifestyle modification and the body’s natural healing mechanisms.

According to Dr Pandey, naturopathy is based on the principles of the Panchamahabhutas—earth, water, fire, air and space—and seeks to promote better health through natural and lifestyle-oriented interventions. Naturopathy is among the systems of traditional medicine recognised under India’s AYUSH framework.

At Vedanjali Wellness, Dr Pandey provides consultations for a range of lifestyle-related concerns, including diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, thyroid-related issues, digestive problems, weight management, pain management and hormonal imbalance. She also offers wellness support for patients dealing with kidney and liver-related conditions, while stressing the importance of appropriate medical supervision.

One of her areas of particular interest is the traditional Ayurvedic approach to diabetes, known as Madhumeha or Prameha. She points to herbs and dietary ingredients such as Gurmar, Jamun seeds, bitter gourd and fenugreek as traditionally used in Ayurveda for blood-sugar management.

Dr Pandey believes that addressing lifestyle factors, improving dietary habits and adopting healthier daily routines can play an important role in long-term wellness. Her treatment programme incorporates naturopathic principles along with selected Ayurvedic therapies and Panchakarma procedures.

Her message to patients is centred on prevention, lifestyle discipline and a holistic approach to health. As interest in natural wellness continues to grow, practitioners such as Dr Pandey are seeking to offer Ranchi residents additional options for complementary care.

Medical note: Naturopathy and Ayurveda should not be considered substitutes for essential medical diagnosis or treatment. Patients with diabetes, hypertension, kidney, liver or other chronic conditions should continue appropriate care and monitoring from qualified medical professionals.
