ESL Steel’s V-Xega, V-WIRRO and V-DUCPIPE Earn Prestigious GreenPro Certification
Bokaro: ESL Steel Limited, a subsidiary of Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited (VISL), has achieved a major sustainability milestone by earning the prestigious CII GreenPro Ecolabel certification for its flagship V-WIRRO Wire Rods and V-DUCPIPE Ductile Iron Pipes. With this latest recognition, all three of the company’s flagship finished steel products—including V-Xega TMT Bars, V-WIRRO Wire Rods, and V-DUCPIPE Ductile Iron Pipes—are now GreenPro certified, underscoring ESL Steel’s commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing.
The GreenPro Ecolabel, developed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and accredited by the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN), is awarded after a comprehensive life cycle-based sustainability assessment. The certification evaluates products on key environmental parameters such as carbon footprint, resource efficiency, energy conservation, environmental performance, and responsible manufacturing practices. Products meeting these stringent benchmarks are recognised as certified green products under the GreenPro framework.
The achievement further reinforces ESL Steel’s position as a sustainability-driven steel manufacturer. GreenPro-certified products are increasingly preferred for green buildings, sustainable infrastructure projects, and environmentally responsible procurement, enabling customers to contribute to low-carbon development.
