Science Summit ‘SRIJAN-2019′ kicks-off at DPS Bokaro

Bokaro: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam DPS Bokaro organised a three day Science Summit -‘SRIJAN, 2019’on the theme ‘Water Conservation and Human Trafficking’ which was explored by the students in the form of ‘Child Rights ‘ and ‘Science Projects’ competition in the school premises.

Mukesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.   Appreciating the efforts put in by the children Mukesh Kumar said that one must have a practical approach towards solving social problems. He added that innovations must be approachable and easily available to the common mass.

The jury comprised Ashok Kumar (Department of History, Bokaro Mahila College), Ashok Kumar Singh (Department of English, City College, Bokaro), Dr. Sanjay Singh (Department of Psychology, Bokaro Mahila College) Usha Rani (Bokaro Mahila College), Gunjita Sinha (Department of Biology, VKM Inter College, Chas), Dr Poonam Deo, Department of Botany, Bokaro Mahila College, Arvind Kumar Singh (Government Women’s Polytechnic College), A. K. OJHA (NJS College), Nasim Akhtar (NJS College) and Nilima Mishra (Department of Physics, Bokaro Mahila College) appreciated the efforts by the students and stressed that such competitions help in developing the scientific acumen of the students as the real study of science and social sciences can be acquired only through their practical implications and observations in daily life.

“Competitions like this not only enhance the scientific and literary skills but also open new ways of learning,” said Ashok Kumar.

Principal DPS Bokaro A S Gangwar appreciated the efforts put in by the students under the guidance of the teachers and said that we constantly try to nurture students who are excited about exploring new learning experiences and this competition is yet another attempt to bring out the best in them.
