Vedanta-Electrosteel honors Front Line Workers

Bokaro: ESL, a Vedanta Group Company felicitated Anganwadi Workers who performed exceptionally well during critical times. The workers were honoured in an award ceremony organized in association with their O&M Partner, Humana People to People India at Nand Ghar, informed ESL Public Relations official.

Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Malhan, CEO, ESL Steel Limited said, the award ceremony was held to honour its Front Line Workers for their undying spirit and to further motivate them to work with the same zeal.

“We hope to hold more such ceremonies to further boost the employees to give their best,” he added.

The ceremony was attended by ICDS Department officials, PRI members, CSR representatives and the AWWs. ESL credited the constant efforts by AWWs to uplift the community in ESL’s operational areas as the process of converting Angadwadis to Nand Ghars commenced.

Manisha Vats, District Social Welfare Officer Bokaro said, “Nand Ghar is an excellent initiative to recognise women who have done great work in community development and in upliftment of women and rural children.”

“The initiative taken by Vedanta aims to ensure that rural India is not left behind in the development of the country. Vedanta is committed to the national vision of eradicating child malnutrition, providing education, healthcare and empowering women with skill development,” added Vast.

The program aims to touch the lives of 4 million people, directly imparting 2,00,000 children and 1,80,000 women, annually. Healthy children and empowered women will make India a prosperous nation, said an official.
