Youth stuck in Malaysia, returns home

RNS: Bablu Kumar Kisku (25), trapped in Malaysia for the past four years, returned home on Saturday. With the initiation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the help of the Labor Control Room and Shikha Association Malaysia, Bablu was repatriated to India from Malaysia.

On Saturday midnight, at around 2 am, Bablu came from Kuala Lumpur airport to India. Later he reached Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, from New Delhi in the evening.

On the directive of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the State Migrant Control Room of the Labour Department (run by PHIA Foundation), in association with Shikha Association Malaysia, has played a vital role in bringing Bablu back to Jharkhand. He has been undergoing treatment for mental illness in a Malaysia hospital since February this year.

Bablu is a resident of Mahutand under the Gomia block of Bokaro district. With the help of a broker Dilawar Ansari (a resident of Giridih), he was migrated to Malaysia on 10 March 2018 for employment where Bablu was working as a laborer in the fruit factory, informed Lakhan Kisku, father of Bablu.

From Malaysia, Bablu was in regular contact with his family, but from the beginning of 2021, there was no communication between us, said Lakhan. “In February, his colleague Ravi called the family and told them that Bablu is under treatment in the Neurology Unit at UMMC Hospital Malaysia,” he added.

“After that, we made a complaint in the local police station and sought help from the chief minister. He immediately took action and directed concerned officials to track my son, said Lakhan,” he said.

A letter was sent by the Secretary, Ministry of Labour, Employment, Training and Skills Development to the High Commission in India, Kulalampur, regarding the matter.

Shikha Association played a very important role in the repatriation of Bablu to India. The association incurred the entire expanses (Rs 1.50 lakhs) for treatment and members of the body accompanied him to India.

At present, the broker is absconding.
