#Complete lockdown from 5 pm on Saturday to 6 am on Monday
RNS: Lockdown-like restrictions extended in Jharkhand till June 16 with some relaxations in a bid to curtail the COVID-19 surge.
In an official statement, the state government said that the Health Safety Week now stands extended from 6 am of 10 June till 6 am of 17 June. “Some relaxations have been given, including the opening of shops in 23 districts from 6 am to 4 pm,” the statement reveals.
While in Jamshedpur, which is witnessing a high number of deaths, shops will open from 6 am till 2 pm, it added.
It said that there will be a complete lockdown across the state between Saturday 5 p.m. to Monday 6 a.m. except for emergency services.
Notably, the government had first imposed the Health Protection Week (lockdown with restrictions) from 6 am on April 22 to 6 am on April 29. The lockdown got a second extension from 6 am on April 29 to 6 am on May 6 and a third extension from 6 am on May 6 to 6 am on May 13. The fourth was from 16 May to 27 May, later from 27 May to 3 June and from 6 am on 3 June, till 6 am on 10 June.
The government’s decision:
- All shops in all districts except East Singhbhum will be open till 4 pm.
- Except for textile, shoe, cosmetic and jewelery shops in East Singhbhum district, all other shops will be open till 4 pm.
- All government and private offices will open till 4 pm with 1/3rd human resource.
- All shops (including vegetable-fruit-grocery shops) will remain closed from 4 pm on Saturday to 6 am on Monday. Establishments related to healthcare will remain open
- Home delivery of food from restaurants as well as take-away allowed.
- Shopping malls, cinema halls, clubs, bars, banquet halls, multiplexes, departmental stores will remain closed.
- Stadiums, gymnasiums, swimming pools and parks will remain closed.
- All educational institutions will remain closed.
- Anganwadi centers will remain closed but food items will be provided to the beneficiaries at home.
- There will be a ban on the gathering of more than 5 people.
- A maximum of 11 persons can attend a marriage and a maximum of 20 persons can attend a funeral.
- Religious places will remain closed for devotees.
- Prohibition on procession will continue.
- The ban on bus transport will continue.
- The examinations conducted by the state will be postponed.
- The ban on fair and exhibition will continue.
- To go from one district to another by private vehicle, to come to Jharkhand from other state or to go from Jharkhand to other states, e-pass will be necessary.
- Barring some exceptions, 7 days home quarantine will be mandatory for those coming to Jharkhand from other states.
- Wearing of mask in a public place and maintaining social distance is mandatory.
- In case of violation of the order, action will be taken by registering an FIR under the relevant section of the Disaster Management Act.
