RNS: Karnataka Government restricted any types of religious attire within the educational institutions. A circular was issued on Thursday quoting the high court order dated 10 February the circular has banned saffron shawls, scarfs, hijab, religious flags, or the like within the classroom.
This rule will be applicable even in the residential schools run by the Minorities Welfare department and Wakf board. The Karnataka High Court three-member Bench headed by the Chief Justice had in its interim order said that the state government and all other stakeholders must reopen the educational institutions and allow the students to return to the classes.
“The pending consideration of all the petitions, all the students regardless of their religion or faith must be restrained from wearing saffron shawls, scarfs, hijab, religious flags, or the like within the classroom,” it mentioned.
