Bokaro : The mesmerizing and culturally rich presentation in the arena of DPS, Bokaro, Primary Wing on 28th July’22 was a visual treat when the students witnessed the Inter House Dance Competition on the theme ‘Festivals of India’. Aparna Shubhra was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The six houses of the school – Ganga, Raavi, Jamuna, Sutlej, Jhelum and Chenab presented their dances based on Indian festivals – Durga Puja, Ramnavami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Holi, Baisakhi and Janmashtami in which the tiny tots of the school exhibited perfect synchronization besides depicting the rich culture of India. The children enthralled the crowd with their expressions and colourful costumes.
Based on their performances, Raavi House which presented a dance Durga Puja secured the first position followed by Ganga and Jhelum in the second place while Chenab House bagged the third position.
Addressing the students, Principal A. S. Gangwar said, “Indian folk dances mirror the rich Indian culture and values which the students exhibited on the stage today. All the Houses were winners today as every House presented a mesmerising performance. Every child should remember that winning or losing doesn’t matter in the competition as participation is more important.”
He advised the students to cultivate the habit of reading and recapitulated the five inspirational lines of former President of India A. P. J. Kalam- “I am the best, I can do this, God is always with me, I am a winner and today is my day.”
