Emirates launches world’s first robotic check-in assistance

RNS: Emirates, a Dubai-based airline, introduced a groundbreaking new service: a robotic check-in assistant named Sara. Dubai’s business center will soon be home to a brand new City Check-in and Travel Store, featuring the technology. Sara will scan guests’ passports, verify their identities, and check them in; will also show them where to leave their bags.

With the new facility’s opening on Thursday, April 27, passengers can drop off their bags between 24 and 4 hours before their departure. Self-service check-in kiosks, desks staffed by Emirates employees, and Sara are all available to passengers.

The robot prints boarding passes and recognizes faces, speeding up check-in. Sara can travel to serve others. Future Saras may have luggage-carrying arms.

Emirates travellers with valid boarding credentials will get complimentary access to certain lifestyle facilities in the ICD Brookfield Place and exclusive discounts and special offers at various restaurants, gyms, and luxury retailers in addition to the new check-in facility.

Passengers can take a cab or the Emirates chauffeur service to the airport or walk 10 minutes to the Financial Centre Metro Station, which connects smoothly to the Airport Terminal 3 Metro Station.

Emirates’ latest innovation aims to improve customer experience and streamline the check-in process. The airline continues to create new standards in the aviation sector by leading the way in technology and innovation.
