‘Hard work can overcome any obstacles’ : Roshan

Roshan Mishra, who had a difficult upbringing in the slums of Tundi, Dhanbad, proved that talent and hard work can overcome any obstacles.

Devbhoomi Kala Kendra, a non-governmental organization in Uttarakhand, staged a three-day art exhibition featuring Roshan’s paintings and those of 15 other artists, thanks to his devotion and hard work.

He was selected for the National Art Camp in Mussoorie and the National Art Exhibition in Rishikesh in Uttarakhand.

“I always loved art, and my talent has amazed others. My mother and father inspired me. Especially my mother always used to encourage me to do better,” said Roshan, adding, “Continuous effort is the main mantra of my success.”

In modern art, Roshan used mixed media to give his paintings a new perspective. His paintings have a unique combination of brilliant colours and textures that draw people in. As he is associated with Jharkhand, a peek at Jharkhand traditional art can be observed in his works.

Roshan creates both abstract and realistic subjects in her paintings. His work consistently exceeds expectations. His works are popular because he strives for artistic uniqueness.

Since his school days, he has garnered numerous prizes. He worked as an art teacher at DAV Public School in Bokaro after getting his master’s degree in arts.

Presently, he is doing research at Bhubaneswar on a Ministry of Culture scholarship and working as an art teacher at Delhi Public School.

His work was also displayed at the All India Art and Craft Society exhibition in New Delhi, as well as in many other cities across the country, including Mumbai, Kolkata, Shimla, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Guwahati Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Bokaro.

The Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi held an art show at Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Art Gallery. Roshan Mishra received the National Research Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture’s Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi. Dhanbad, Bokaro, and Jharkhand are glad that the Government of India recognises their young artist.
