# MoU aims to propel 6G wireless technologies
RNS: In a significant move toward advancing the realm of 6G wireless technologies, the Bharat 6G Alliance and Next G Alliance, an initiative under the aegis of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS), have formally inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
This landmark agreement paves the way for collaborative efforts in the realm of 6G wireless technologies, not only in India but also on a global scale.
The MoU was officially signed by N. G. Subramaniam, Chair of the Bharat 6G Alliance, and Susan Miller, President and CEO of the ATIS’s Next G Alliance.
The MoU seeks to facilitate the alignment of research and development priorities, primarily focusing on fostering a shared vision for 6G technology. Additionally, it aims to foster the creation of secure and trusted telecommunications networks while ensuring the resilience of supply chains.
Commenting on the momentous occasion, N. G. Subramaniam emphasized India’s vision for societal empowerment and the transformative potential of 6G technology in enhancing the quality of life.
He stressed the need for focused, open, and collaborative research endeavours across nations and underscored the MoU as a pivotal step in this direction. Susan Miller, CEO of the Next G Alliance, described the agreement with the Bharat 6G Alliance as a crucial milestone in advancing the development of the global 6G mobile wireless ecosystem.
The Bharat 6G Alliance represents a collaboration of Indian industry, academia, and national research institutions.
Aligned with the Bharat 6G Mission, the alliance is dedicated to designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge technology and innovations that offer intelligent and secure solutions for an enhanced living experience within India and beyond. The alliance is pivotal in fostering an ecosystem conducive to research, design, development, field testing, security, certification, and telecom products and solutions manufacturing.
