Ranchi: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) commemorated Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti today with a tribute led by Chairman-cum-Managing Director Nilendu Kumar Singh, who offered flowers to Gandhi’s portrait.
Special programs were organized across all CCL areas, including the headquarters, attended by Director (Finance) Shri Pawan Kumar Singh, Director (Technical/Operations) Shri Harish Duhan, department heads, workers, and numerous Safai Mitras.
During the ceremony, CMD Singh highlighted Gandhi’s inspiring life, urging all to embrace his simplicity, truth, and non-violence values. He also honored Lal Bahadur Shastri, advocating for the realization of his slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” through national service.
The event also recognized the efforts of CCL’s Swachhata Mitras, who received jute bags, shoes, T-shirts, gloves, sanitizers, and sweets in appreciation of their role in maintaining cleanliness at CCL facilities.
Notably, October 2 marked the conclusion of the #Swachhata Hi Seva campaign initiated by the Government of India. This cleanliness drive, running from September 17 to October 2, focused on cleaning various citizen-centric locations, including schools and public reservoirs, to promote awareness about waste disposal and environmental cleanliness. Additionally, health check-up camps were organized for Swachhata Mitras, and saplings were planted as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa’ initiative.
At the program’s conclusion, participants took a pledge to uphold Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals and commit to building a clean and healthy nation.
