Navanita Saha IIT-ISM Scholar Wins Early Career Research Award

Dhanbad: The Department of Applied Geology at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad is pleased to announce that Navanita Saha, a Junior Research Fellow (Adm. No. 22DR0146), has been awarded the prestigious Early Career Research Award for her exceptional oral presentation at the International Conference on Meteoroids, Meteors and Meteorites – Messengers from Space (MetMess).

The conference, held from November 20 to 22, 2024, at the Physical Research Laboratory in Ahmedabad, brought together leading experts in planetary science.

Navanita’s presentation, titled “Characterization of Hydrous Sulphate in Metanomadh Formation: A Martian Analog,” highlighted her innovative research into the geological properties of hydrous sulphate minerals. These minerals are key to understanding the history of water on Mars and the planet’s geological evolution. Her findings, which offer insights into the potential for past water activity on Mars, are set to make a significant impact in the field of planetary science.

The Early Career Research Award recognizes Navanita’s exceptional dedication, hard work, and the high quality of her research, which has earned recognition from experts across the globe.
