BIT Mesra Lalpur Campus Brings Winter Relief to the Needy

Ranchi: Aiming to provide winter clothing to those in need, the National Service Scheme (NSS) at BIT Mesra Lalpur Campus conducted a “Cloth Distribution Drive” on Saturday. The initiative was taken at Ranchi Railway Station and Pahari Tola, reaching out to underprivileged individuals while also promoting a sense of social responsibility among the campus community.

In the lead-up to the event, the NSS organized a cloth donation campaign, receiving generous contributions from students, faculty, and local residents. Volunteers worked tirelessly to sort, organize, and categorize the donated items for efficient distribution. On the day of the event, priority was given to elderly individuals, women, and children.

More than 15 NSS volunteers participated in the drive, helping over 50 individuals. Dr. Abhaya Ranjan Srivastava, NSS Program Head, guided volunteers such as Hritika, Aryan, Abhishek, Sakshi, Aastha, Rahul, Aishwarya, Ananya, and Ashish to ensure the smooth execution of the event.

This successful drive underscores the NSS’s commitment to community service and demonstrates the positive impact of such initiatives. The participants expressed their support for organizing similar events in the future, emphasizing the importance of continuing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
