Dhanbad: The Bengali Welfare Committee of Dhanbad celebrated the Bengali New Year 1432 with a vibrant Prabhat Pheri on Saturday, continuing its annual tradition. The early morning cultural procession saw enthusiastic participation from a large number of locals.
Starting from JC Mallick Road, the Prabhat Pheri passed through key city landmarks including Manish Medical, Park Market, Hirapur Court Quarter, Jain Mukherjee Road, and Shakti Medical, before concluding at Hari Mandir. The procession was enriched with traditional Bengali music and dance performances, creating a festive atmosphere throughout its route.
Renowned musicians of Dhanbad, including Indrajit Chatterjee, Arun Banerjee, and Shyam Banerjee, graced the occasion, along with young talents like Master Kushan Sengupta, Master Arijit Banerjee, Master Nirjhar Bakshi, Master Rajdeep Chatterjee, and Anushree Banerjee who presented soulful musical performances.
Dancers from six prominent dance schools of Dhanbad enthralled the crowd with graceful performances. The committee honored their mentors — Sanchita Bakshi, Samridh Chaudhary, Sumona Banerjee, Champa Banerjee, and Aarti Saav — with mementoes in appreciation of their dedication.
The event was supported by several local bodies including the Park Market Chamber of Commerce, Chiragora Chamber of Commerce, Court Quarter Market Committee, Hirapur Hari Mandir, Marwari Yuva Manch, and Shakti Medical, who welcomed the procession at various points.
