Bokaro: In a concerted effort to align with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro, in collaboration with the CBSE Centre of Excellence (CoE), Patna, conducted a one-day capacity-building workshop focused on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for the Foundational Stage. The workshop, held on Saturday, aimed at enhancing teaching practices to promote high-quality, equitable education for young learners.
The event brought together experienced educators as resource persons, including Anuradha Singh, Principal of DAV Public School, Sector VI, and Pooja Singh, Senior Teacher at Holy Cross School, who shared insights on early childhood education strategies and developmental pedagogy.
During her session, Anuradha Singh underscored the critical role educators play in shaping children during their formative years. She highlighted the growing concerns of excessive academic pressure and digital dependency among children, which often restrict their engagement with real-world experiences. “Educators must champion both the innocence of childhood and the nurturing of future leaders,” she said, stressing the need for a paradigm shift in language use and teaching approaches. Singh also discussed key government initiatives such as the ‘NIPUN Bharat Mission’ and the importance of addressing all five developmental domains for holistic child development.
Pooja Singh spoke about the transformative vision of the NCF for the Foundational Stage, emphasizing the shift towards play-based and experiential learning models. She explained how the framework offers a detailed guide to achieving quality education for children up to eight years old.
Dr. A.S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro, welcomed the initiative, stating that such workshops are crucial for standardizing curriculum delivery across India. He encouraged educators to implement the workshop learnings in their classrooms to improve educational outcomes and ensure a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
The workshop marked a vital step towards educational reform at the foundational level, reinforcing the NEP’s vision of inclusive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.
