Sindri: The Department of Production and Industrial Engineering at BIT Sindri inaugurated a five-day national seminar titled “Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing: Industry 4.0 and Beyond”, featuring cutting-edge discussions on modern industrial technologies and research innovations.
The seminar opened with insightful lectures from prominent experts. Neelima Sharma, Deputy Head (Digital) at Cairn Oil and Gas, New Delhi, delivered a keynote address on “Digital Twins for Industrial Transformation.”
She highlighted the potential of digital twin technology to enhance efficiency, enable real-time monitoring, and drive continuous improvement in industrial processes.
Following her, Dr. K.K. Singh, Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at ISM Dhanbad, presented on “Design and Development of Knees and Spinal-Based Smart Protective Devices.” His session focused on advanced technologies aimed at improving safety and operational environments for miners.
Professor Prakash Kumar, Seminar Coordinator and Head of the Department, emphasized the importance of these discussions, particularly the role of digital twin technology and material-to-product research in shaping the future of manufacturing.
The afternoon session featured presentations of research papers from scholars across the country, sparking meaningful exchanges of ideas and innovations in the field.
