Bokaro: The Vidyapati Auditorium of Mithila Academy Public School, Sector-4, echoed with poetic brilliance on Sunday during a multilingual Kavi Sammelan jointly organized by Sahityalok and the Mithila Sanskritik Parishad. Poets from Ranchi, Hazaribagh, and Bokaro captivated the audience with powerful verses on themes like heroism, motherhood, love, devotion, and compassion.
The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tributes to Maa Saraswati by Kumar Manish Arvind, retired IFS officer and Sahitya Akademi awardee, along with noted litterateurs Hitnath Jha, Tulanand Mishra, Buddhinath Jha, Vijay Shankar Mallick Sudhapati, and others. The program began with a soulful rendition of Mahakavi Vidyapati’s “Jai Jai Bhairavi” by singer Anchal Pathak.
Two Maithili literary works were also released: the play “Ahan Binu Hum Jiyab Kona” by Aman Kumar Jha, and poetry collection “Kavik Aaba” by Dr. Santosh Kumar Jha.
Chief Guest Arvind lauded the organizers, saying such literary gatherings invigorate cultural life and should be held regularly. The event was conducted by Shambhu Jha and Aman Kumar Jha, with Rajendra Kumar delivering the vote of thanks. The audience included several noted poetry enthusiasts from the region.
