Bokaro: In a vibrant celebration of talent, determination, and mentorship, Vedanta ESL Archery Academy honoured its rising stars and coaching team in a grand felicitation ceremony held at Siyaljori, Bokaro. The event marked a proud moment for the academy, a flagship CSR initiative by ESL Steel Limited, as it celebrated over 190 medals won by its archers since its inception in 2020.
The spotlight was on young champions who brought laurels to the academy at state and national tournaments, especially at the 15th Jharkhand State Archery Championship 2023.
Among the standout achievers were Chitranjan Tudu with a gold medal, Bani Kumari and Tannu Kumari with two golds each, and consistent performers Satyami Kumari, Suhana Parveen, and Kritika Kumari, who was gifted a special recurve bow.
Coaches Budeshwar Murmu (Head Coach), Sanju Kumari (Assistant Coach), and SP Gosh (Physical Coach) were commended for their relentless dedication in shaping the athletes.
Dignitaries including Durga Prasanna Panda of ESL Steel, Anjala Singh from the Bokaro District Archery Association, and local leaders joined the celebration.
All 50 enrolled archers received new kits, symbolizing ESL’s ongoing commitment to empowering rural youth through world-class training.

Notably, The Vedanta ESL Archery Academy was established in 2020 as a CSR initiative to promote the traditional sport of archery in Jharkhand. Located inside the ESL Steel plant in Siyaljori, the academy trains 50 young athletes aged up to 21 years across four categories: Under 9, Under 14, Under 17, and Under 21. It provides a comprehensive training program that includes coaching, nutrition, equipment, and a supportive environment for holistic development.
