Bokaro: ESL Steel Limited, a proud subsidiary of Vedanta Limited, recently rolled out the red carpet for a group of eager MBA students from Vinoba Bhave College of Management. The industrial visit offered these future business leaders an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at cutting-edge steel manufacturing processes and the company’s top-tier safety protocols, bringing textbook lessons vividly to life.
A group of 45 students, accompanied by three faculty members, toured ESL’s state-of-the-art facility in Siyaljori village, Bokaro. The visit began with a safety induction and security briefing, followed by guided tours of key production units, including the Bar Rod Mill and Wire Rod Mill. All participants were provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), underscoring ESL’s strong safety culture.
The initiative is part of ESL’s broader effort to bridge academia and industry by offering students a real-world perspective on manufacturing operations. “These visits help students connect theory with practice and inspire them to pursue careers in core industries,” said Sanjay Kumar, Head – Stakeholder Management at ESL.
With a 1.5 MTPA greenfield integrated plant, ESL Steel manufactures pig iron, billets, TMT bars, wire rods, and ductile iron pipes, maintaining high standards in environmental sustainability and safety.
