India’s firm stand against terrorism is resonating on the global stage as multi-party parliamentary delegations intensify international outreach to expose cross-border terrorism, particularly emanating from Pakistan.
In a strategic diplomatic move, Indian lawmakers from across the political spectrum are engaging with international leaders, think tanks, media, and civil society, reinforcing New Delhi’s unified message: terrorism will not be tolerated.
In Panama, an Indian delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor met with Dana Castaneda, President of the Panama National Assembly. During the dialogue, Tharoor clarified that India does not seek conflict but insisted that terrorism must be met with decisive action. Referring to the Pahalgam terror attack, he explained that India targeted known terrorist hubs after Pakistan failed to act against the perpetrators. “We may come from different political ideologies, but we stand united in our national mission to combat terrorism,” he said.
Tharoor called on Panama to support global efforts in holding terrorism sponsors accountable, urging pressure on those shielding terrorists. He specifically pointed to Pakistan’s repeated provocations aimed at destabilizing Indian sovereignty.
Meanwhile, in South Africa, another all-party Indian delegation led by NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule continued the diplomatic campaign. Emphasizing India’s zero-tolerance policy, Sule highlighted Operation Sindoor as a measured yet firm response to terrorism — one that upheld India’s commitment to peace while defending national security.
The delegation stressed the global imperative to dismantle cross-border terrorist networks and cease distinctions between terrorists and their enablers. They also held discussions with the Indian diaspora, underlining India’s unified domestic consensus in the fight against terror.
The delegation is scheduled to continue its engagements in Cape Town, where further meetings with South African lawmakers and government ministers are planned.
India’s multi-pronged diplomatic outreach marks a significant effort to garner international support and cooperation in countering terrorism, as the nation underscores its commitment to global peace and security.
