Bokaro: In a heartfelt tribute to the guiding lights of Indian classical music, Sanskar Bharti’s Bokaro District Unit hosted its annual Guru Samman Ceremony on Thursday evening at Shri Ram Mandir, Sector 1 at Bokaro Steel City.
The event celebrated the invaluable contributions of three distinguished music maestros — Naresh Kumar Sinha, Pt. Shyam Goswami, and Amar Ji Sinha — honouring them with the prestigious Guru Samman.
The ceremony commenced with a soul-stirring rendition of Sanskar Bharti’s motto song ‘Sadhayati Sanskar Bharti Bharate Navjeevanam…’ performed by District President Amar Ji Sinha, Literature Head Arun Pathak, Dance Head Rajni Padhi, and other members, with rhythmic accompaniment by Revant Padhi on the tabla. Young vocalist Aditya Kumar mesmerized the audience with his rendition of ‘Ram Siya Ram’ and ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’.
Adding to the cultural tapestry of the evening, students of RR Nrityashala — Revant Padhi, Deepika Kumari, Aranya Shri, Anusha Ghosh, Jigyasa Raut, Pari Kumari, and Rishabh Chaubey — delivered a captivating Bharatanatyam performance based on the Guru Shloka and Pushpanjali, earning rounds of applause.

The highlight of the evening was the Guru Samman segment, where revered figures of Bokaro’s classical music scene were felicitated for their lifelong dedication to the art. The honours were presented by Sanskar Bharti patron and senior BJP leader Indu Shekhar Mishra, Shri Ram Mandir’s head priest Pt. Shivji Shastri, and renowned singer and literature head Arun Pathak. The awardees were presented with traditional shawls and commendation letters.
In his address, Indu Shekhar Mishra lauded the cultural significance of the event, stating, “In Indian tradition, the Guru is not just a teacher but a torchbearer of knowledge and values. Honouring them keeps our rich heritage alive.”
The event was seamlessly anchored by General Secretary Swaroop Shekhar Pandey, who also opened the evening with a welcome address outlining Sanskar Bharti’s commitment to nurturing Indian arts and culture. Arun Pathak delivered the vote of thanks, and the evening concluded with a powerful group rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’, leaving the audience immersed in patriotic and spiritual fervour.
Sanskar Bharti’s annual Guru Samman continues to reinforce the deep-rooted cultural ethos of reverence, tradition, and artistic excellence in Bokaro.
