Remarks come amid violent unrest and anti-Islamabad protests in PoK
Satna: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday likened Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) to “a room in India’s house” that has been unlawfully seized by outsiders, asserting that it “must be reclaimed.” Addressing a gathering in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, Bhagwat emphasized that PoK remains an integral part of India and reclaiming it is not an act of aggression but the restoration of rightful ownership.
“Many of our Sindhi brothers are here today. They didn’t go to Pakistan—they went to undivided India. Circumstances brought us here, but that home and this home are not different,” Bhagwat said, drawing applause from the audience. “Someone has taken over one room of our house where my table, chair, and clothes used to be. Tomorrow, we must take it back,” he added.
“A house that was once ours is now with someone else; we need to take it back and assert our possession.”

Unrest Deepens in PoK
Bhagwat’s statement comes amid escalating unrest in PoK, where thousands have taken to the streets under the Awami Action Committee (AAC), demanding economic relief and political reform. Over the past three days, violent clashes between protesters and Pakistani forces have left at least 10 people dead and more than 100 injured.
Major incidents have been reported from Dhirkot in Bagh district, where four protesters were shot dead, and from Muzaffarabad, Dadyal (Mirpur), and Chamyati near Kohala. Analysts warn that Pakistan’s continued use of force over dialogue has further deepened public anger in the volatile region.
Experts say the protests have also exposed Islamabad’s long-running propaganda on Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting growing discontent within its own occupied territory.
‘India’s Global Standing Strengthened’
Referring to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Bhagwat praised India’s firm response, saying it reflected “the courage of our armed forces, the resolve of our leadership, and the unity of Indian society.” He added that the global reaction to the attack revealed “who truly stands with India on the world stage.”
Bhagwat’s remarks, coming amid the growing chaos in PoK, have once again underscored the Sangh’s long-standing position that Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir is an integral part of India — temporarily under illegal occupation.
