‘Kala Darshan’ Cultural Programme Marks Tagore Jayanti at Chhau Centre Bokaro

 

 

Artists mesmerise audience with vibrant cultural performances at Sangeet Natak Akademi Chhau Centre in Chandankiyari, Bokaro

Bokaro: Sangeet Natak Akademi Chhau Centre, Chandankiyari on Saturday celebrated the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore with great enthusiasm and reverence. A special cultural event titled Kala Darshan was organised on the occasion, where artists paid tribute to the legendary poet through music, dance and literary performances.

Swamiji from Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Dhanbad branch, Chandra Vidyalaya Principal Mrs Seema, Chhau Centre Coordinator Dr Sanjay, Akademi awardee Parikshit Mahato and Bhuvan Kumar from West Bengal, along with several distinguished guests, offered floral tributes and garlanded the portrait of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

Delivering the welcome address, Dr Sanjay highlighted the life and contributions of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. The audience later enjoyed an engaging cultural presentation under the Kala Darshan programme.

The grand event was organised at Sangeet Natak Akademi Chhau Centre, Rabindra Bhavan, Chandankiyari, which is run by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Artists from Jharkhand and West Bengal, along with schoolchildren and teachers, enthusiastically participated in the programme, making the celebration memorable.

Several performances based on the works of the world-renowned poet were presented during the event. Artists captivated the audience with soulful renditions of music, dance, poetry recitation, instrumental performances and light classical music. Special performances on Tagore’s compositions by artists from Jharkhand and West Bengal received huge appreciation from the audience.

Teachers, students and a large number of local residents attended the programme. Vijay Kumar, Mahesh Raut, Swapna Kumar, Gopal Kumar and Rakesh played key roles in making the event successful.
