Vedanta ESL Archery Academy’s Young Archers Shine at National Championship, Bring Glory to Jharkhand

Bokaro: Young prodigies from the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy have brought laurels to Jharkhand with their stellar performance at the NTPC Cherukuri Lenin Volga Memorial National Archery Championship, held from March 20 to 30 in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The prestigious event, recognized as one of the top national-level tournaments in the country, drew fierce competition with over 60 participants representing various states in each category.

Leading the charge was 14-year-old Kritika Kumari from Siyaljori, who clinched the gold medal in the Under-14, 30m Girls Team category. Known for her consistent performance, Kritika has previously represented Jharkhand at several national tournaments, earning recognition as one of the region’s most promising young archers.

Joining her on the podium was 10-year-old Yavna Yadav from Moonidih, who bagged the silver medal in the Under-10, 15m Olympic Round Individual event. A Class 4 student at DAV CBSE, Yavna has already carved out a place for herself in national circuits with a growing tally of medals, signaling a bright future in Indian archery.

These victories highlight the success of Vedanta ESL Archery Academy’s grassroots development model, which emphasizes early talent identification, structured coaching, and all-round development. With world-class infrastructure, expert trainers, and a focused approach, the academy has quickly become a beacon of archery excellence in Jharkhand.

Established in 2020 as a part of ESL Steel Limited’s CSR initiative, the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy operates within the premises of the Siyaljori steel plant. The academy supports 50 young archers from rural backgrounds, aged up to 21 years, offering professional training across age groups—Under-9, Under-14, Under-17, and Under-21. Run by seasoned coaches, the program includes not only technical guidance but also nutritional and psychological support, ensuring holistic development.

As these young champions rise through the ranks, Vedanta ESL Archery Academy continues to shape the future of Indian archery—one arrow at a time.
